      The Baltimore Chapter of the IIA is excited to announce that we have contracted with Joel Kramer's (2013 IIA American Hall of Distinguished Practioner's Inductee) MIS Training Institute to bring one of their high-quality courses, entitled "Data Mining for Auditors", to Baltimore at a substantial discount to our members.


      Please note that this is NOT Computer Assisted Audit Tools (CAATS) training, but instead training designed to provide attendees with a logical approach and methodology for incorporating data mining into all aspects of the internal audit process. See the details below:


      Course Title: MIS Training Institute's Data Mining for Internal Auditors - A Logical Approach to Continous Auditing and Governance

      Synopsis: To meet the challenges of the 21st century it is necessary for Internal Audit to retool and closely align itself with the business issues confronting today’s organizations. A logical audit presence driven by data coupled with continuous and virtual audit is a practical strategy for achieving this goal.

      In this seminar you will learn how to effectively use data as the driver for multiple audit functionalities, from risk assessment to highly effective visual-based audit reports. You will learn which data to mine to minimize audit resources and maximize audit and business outcomes by delivering business-focused recommendations that will bring about constructive change. In addition, you will learn oversight strategies and techniques for performing continuous auditing that will enable your organization to be best-in-class in today’s global competitive market place.       Speaker Bio: Greg Duckert is a Senior Consultant for MIS Training Institute. He is also the Founder of the Virtual Governance Institute, a consulting firm specializing in data-centric enterprise risk assessment models and continous audit platforms. Actively engaged in internal auditing for more than 30 years, Mr. Duckert is a subject matter expert in risk assessment and specializes in using progressive audit tools and techniques. Honing his expertise in the manufacturing, construction and healthcare industries, he was an Audit Executive for a Fortune 500 company and also served as Chief Audit Executive for two other major organizations. In addition, he has authored the book Practical Enterprise Risk Management:  A Business Process Approach.
