      Maryland Home & Garden Show

      The Maryland Home & Garden Show, held at the Maryland State Fairgrounds Friday, October 15 through Sunday, October 17, 2010 will deliver all the latest treasures, trends, and technical know-how homeowners need to create the perfect Fall home. Home and garden experts, hundreds of exhibitors and service providers, and TV personalities will be on hand to help homeowners transform their homes and gardens from drab to fab!

      Highlights of the Maryland Home & Garden Show include:

      • More than 400 Exhibitors: From nuts and bolts projects to frills and accessories, the unrivaled variety of contractors, landscapers, interior designers and hundreds of other exhibitors at the Show will help homeowners tackle any home improvement project

      • Steve Katkowsky: Contractor, TV personality, and author Steve Katkowsky will show homeowners how to make the most of small spaces, transforming kitchens and bathrooms into designer showcases while maximizing cabinet, counter, and wall space

      • Complimentary Design Consultation: Award-winning design experts from the American Society of Interior Designers will offer free 20-minute consultations to help homeowners create the perfect indoor retreat by matching pillow shams to paint colors, accessorizing, and picking the perfect drapes

      • Go Green: Experts from the Green Building Institute will be on hand to answer homeowners’ questions about the growing green trends in home improvement , going “green,” and best practices in building an eco-friendly abode

      • Habitat for Humanity of the Chesapeake: Homeowners can leave the Show with a second place to hang their hats, as the Maryland Home & Garden Show raffles off a Habitat playhouse. Families can also build and paint birdhouses or purchase kits to take home, and can ask Habitat experts how to volunteer with the organization. Proceeds benefit Habitat for Humanity of the Chesapeake

      • Balloon Garden: Families and children will delight in the 600 square foot fantasy balloon garden, with flowers, shrubs, plants, and aerial balloon installations creating a dreamlike landscape – no watering, weeding, or pruning required

      • Maryland Fall Craft Show: More than 100 jury-reviewed artists will showcase a wide range of original art and crafts, including paintings and photographs, jewelry, pottery, and designer homemade candles

      • Better Living Exhibits: From planning a relaxing vacation getaway to health, fitness, and beauty, dozens of Better Living exhibitors will help homeowners to live the good life

      Tickets to the Maryland Home & Garden Show are $9 for adults, $7 for seniors, $3 for kids ages 6-12, and free for children under 6 years old. Admission is also free for active military, police and fire employees with proper ID.
